With the correct needle, thread and machine settings, the Singer 5532 can also handle lighter and more delicate fabrics such as rayon, silk satin and selected stretch fabrics.
Needle Selection Tip: Always choose the appropriate needle type and size for the fabric and thread being used. For continuous production sewing or very heavy industrial materials, a specialised industrial sewing machine may be more suitable.
Adjustable Thread Tension & Stitch Settings
The upper thread tension can be adjusted to help achieve balanced stitches across different fabrics, threads and sewing techniques. The lower thread tension is factory-set and normally does not require adjustment during everyday use.
The Singer 5532 also provides convenient stitch adjustments. The stitch width can be adjusted up to 6mm, while the stitch length can be adjusted from approximately 0.5mm to 4mm, depending on the selected stitch.
