Silicon Oil, Clear, High Temperature Lubrication Oil or Thread Oil | 线油

Silicon oil is a highly effective synthetic lubricant widely used in the textile and sewing industries. It is a clear, odorless, and thermally stable liquid that significantly reduces friction between moving parts and fabric fibers. In sewing applications, silicon oil is primarily used to lubricate sewing threads, needles, and high-speed machine components. This lubrication prevents thread breakage, minimizes skipped stitches, and protects delicate fabrics from frictional heat damage during intense operation. 

To achieve the best results, specific application methods are recommended. For thread lubrication, you can pass the thread through a small sponge or felt pad saturated with silicon oil just before it enters the tension discs. Alternatively, specialized thread lubricants can be applied directly to the spool using a fine applicator bottle or a spray designed for textiles. For machine parts, applying a few drops directly onto the needle bar and shuttle race ensures smooth mechanical movement. 

The frequency of application depends entirely on your usage volume. For industrial or continuous high-speed sewing, silicon oil should be applied daily or at the start of every shift to maintain peak performance.

For domestic or hobbyist sewing, applying the oil once every few weeks, or right before starting a large project with heavy fabrics, is sufficient to keep the machine running smoothly. 

Safety precautions are essential when handling silicon oil. Always apply it in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling any mist if using a spray format. Wear protective gloves to prevent skin irritation, and avoid contact with your eyes. Because silicon oil is highly slippery, immediately clean up any accidental spills on the floor to prevent slip hazards. Finally, keep the oil away from open flames, and store it in a cool, dry place out of reach of children.
